Abstract

The increasingly large numbers of Indians occupying leading positions in diverse areas across the world should be a pointer to significant progresses in India in fields of education and science & technology. However, in spite of these global successes, the rankings of the country as a whole in education or scientific research or technology development remain abysmally low.
